A Soul as Cold as Frost

Winter is coming, in some areas, it feels like Winter is already here, but have you discovered the realm of Winter in A Soul as Cold as Frost by Jennifer Kropf? A Soul as Cold as Frost was released on November 2nd, 2020.

I recently had the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this debut young adult fantasy and absolutely loved it! The nods to the traditions of Christmas make this book a wonderful seasonal read that I’m excited to share with all of you.

Helen Bell is 16 and experiencing the life of a teenager who is struggling after the loss of her father and mother. She is living with her grandmother, along with her siblings, and wearing hand-me-downs. A chance encounter in the woods changes her life forever as she’s transported to Winter, a world that is facing struggles of its own.

Helen was once an afterthought but is now the center of attention, the holder of an unusual orb in an unusual world.

The author has built an amazing story that seems to meld The Polar Express, Narnia, and the traditions of Christmas into an exciting realm known as, Winter.

In Winter, you can expect magic and unbelievably intriguing characters. There is danger, joy, and mystery, and Helen is in the thick of it all. You see, Winter is under the rule of an evil Queen, and the future of Winter and its residents is at stake. Helen may hold the key to their survival.

I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy books enveloped in fantasy and magic. I’m looking forward to the remainder of this series!
